Coalitions
Anti-Discrimination Coalition
ctEQUALITY was launched in 2010 by the Anti-Discrimination Coalition, a dynamic network of organizations in Connecticut that have lead the effort to expand our state's non-discrimination law to include gender identity and gender expression. ctEQUALITY is a project that aims to strengthen our transgender and ally communities as we work towards better, more inclusive non-discrimination law.
Everybody Benefits Coalition
The Everybody Benefits Coalition is working to ensure paid sick days for CT workers as an important public health benefit that will improve access to health care and provide economic security for CT families. Planned Parenthood understands that women and families are disproportionately affected by the lack of paid sick days because most often they are the primary caregivers of their families. Women also need paid sick days for their prenatal care which is critical for a health pregnancy.
Better Choices for Connecticut
Better Choices for Connecticut is a community coalition working to help Connecticut make smarter choices on ways to improve the state’s imbalanced revenue system so that it: Advances opportunity for shared prosperity for all Connecticut residents; Preserves services for children, families and the elderly; Creates and sustains good jobs; and Reinvests in the middle class and our communities
Connecticut Coalition for Choice
The CT Coalition for Choice is comprised of organizations that prioritize reproductive health as a legislative priority. The coalition works on a state and federal level to preserve and protect all aspects of women’s reproductive health care through advocacy, education and legislative action.
Healthy Teens Connecticut
Planned Parenthood understands the urgent need for CT youth to have access to medically accurate, developmentally appropriate sex education in their schools. It is critical that Connecticut youth have access to education, information and services to make responsible choices about sex and their sexual health. This year the Healthy Teens Connecticut coalition supports legislation that requires a health education credit for graduation that includes developmentally appropriate comprehensive sexuality education.
Health Care for America NOW
The time is ripe for America to finally bring affordabilty and accessibility to its health care system. Planned Parenthood is working with the Health Care for America NOW coalition to ensure that it happens.
Health Care 4 Every 1
The healthcare4every1 Campaign is the statewide educational and advocacy campaign uniting residents, businesses, and organizations committed to quality, affordable health care for everyone. Coordinated by the Universal Health Care Foundation of Connecticut, the campaign seeks to build public and political support for the achievement of universal health care in Connecticut.
Coalition for a Safe and Healthy Connecticut
Planned Parenthood of Southern New England joined the Coalition for a Safe & Healthy CT because of the growing concern of how environmental toxins such as Bisphenol-A (BPA) are affecting the ability of women to become pregnant, have a healthy pregnancy, and give birth to a healthy child.
